This fall you announced that suspected 9/11 terrorists would face justice in New York federal court – which brought on a wave of criticism and fearmongering. You recently announced that a decision is imminent. I wanted to let you know that I support your decision, and urge that you stay strong in support of federal courts – the surest way to get justice for 9/11.

As you said in your testimony before the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies, we must rely on facts, not fear, to inform this decision. As you know, our federal courts have a proven track record of handling complex terrorism cases – hundreds of convictions vs. 3 in military commissions.

Please stand strong against the fearmongering and stay the course to close Guantanamo.

I want to see Guantanamo closed and justice served. Guantanamo has been a stain on America's reputation. It has undermined our values, undercut our counterterrorism efforts and squandered an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the American justice system.
